I hope these songs help you drift through your space / time / consciousness like snow gently blown across the surface of the road.
throughout the fall and beginnings of winter in 2017, I recorded about 30 guitar + midi-drums improvisations. at first they were 5-10 mins long each, but by the 20th session or so it was getting more common for me to play for 45-50 mins without stopping. all off the cuff, no premeditated material. and I hit "record" at the beginning of each session, so everything I unthinkingly played was documented.
on new year's eve I found myself sitting at home alone here on the farm in Maine, with below zero temperatures keeping me in, so I decided to sit down and collect the best of those improvised recordings into an album. I edited each session quite a lot, chipping away the unnecessary bits of each recording until it became a more refined, shorter, listenable track. then I stuck them together and did barely any mastering or mixing.
I'm releasing this record at midnight as the year changes over, because I hope it can set an intention for the coming year, that I'll continue to practice, document, and share my explorations, and to push myself to do so always more presently and honestly.
